I’m not quite sure when fall descended upon the great city of Cleveland, but brrrr. It looks like this weekend should warm up quite a bit, leaving us with temperatures in the seventies. With the summer starting to come to an end, I’m sure we’re all anxious to get out and about, so here is the line-up for this weekend! Enjoy and Happy Friday!
Cinema at the Square: For the very inexpensive price of $5, head over to Connor Palace in Playhouse Square to check out the vintage movies scheduled on the big screen. This weekend Caddyshack is playing Friday night at 7:30 p.m., The Wizard of Oz on Saturday at 2 p.m., Roman Holiday on Saturday at 8 p.m. and The African Queen at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Watch films the way they were meant to be seen, on the big screen!
The Feast: As a lifelong Clevelander, I’ve made an appearance or two at The Feast of the Assumption in Little Italy. In combination with our adorable Little Italy neighborhood and the fabulous food that comes from this hopping street, you are sure to have a fun time. The Feast will be going on all weekend and is free to attend. My only word of caution: The Feast is usually packed. So as long as you don’t mind hordes of people, head on over!
Gay Games 9: Have you seen the flurry of activity in downtown Cleveland this past week? Much of that can be attributed to GG9, as participants take advantage of all Cleveland has to offer. The city of Cleveland has done a phenomenal job of welcoming local and international participants to the games. And Cleveland should be proud to have hosted the 9th Annual Gay Games. Next up on the list is Paris! Not often does Cleveland get paired with such big name cities. Head over to Mall C this weekend to check out Festival Village, where live music has been going on every night. Want to indulge in a really fun party? Buy tickets for the closing ceremony or go to the after party at the House of Blues for their 7 Deadly Sins Celebration!
