This is officially my last weekend in Cleveland for the month of August. Which means that I need to cram is as much as possible so that I feel like I’ve gotten my fill before I jet off to Alaska. So head out of work a little early today (I mean it is Friday!), crack open a beer and start enjoying the gorgeous weather this weekend!

Friday, August 8:

Believe in CLE: Are you ready to kick off the Gay Games in style? What better way to do that then participating in the Believe in CLE Yoga Movement from 8:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., followed by the AHA! light show that promises to illuminate the city. I saw some of the lights yesterday and I promise you, it is going to be amazing! The official opening ceremony for the Gay Games is tomorrow, but start the weekend off with some om’s, live music, lights and food trucks!

Saturday, August 9

The Cleveland Flea: From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. head over to the Asia Town Neighborhood, which is the new home of the Flea. Never been? This is the trendiest flea market you’ll ever visit! Enjoy tasty treats from local food trucks and businesses, while sifting through some very unique merchandise! Expect to find cute, vintage finds with many of the vendors.

Beer at the Pier: If you’ve been down to Edgewater at all this summer, you know that it’s received a major facelift since the Cleveland Metroparks took over. Beer at the Pier is kicking off its inaugural year at Edgewater Park from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. The price of admission is $35 and includes 25 two-ounce beer samples from over 20 Ohio brewers and live music! Buy your tickets by midnight tonight to guarantee your spot!

Sunday, August 10:

Hot in Cleveland Casino Party: What better way to spend a Sunday night than at the Horseshoe Casino in downtown Cleveland from 8 p.m. – 1 a.m. Expect a live band, DJ and other surprises! The cost of admission is free (well not really if you intend to gamble), but you get the picture! The official drink of the evening will be the $5 “Taste the Rainbow” in honor of Gay Games 9 and includes a commemorative glass.

Be sure to check out all the Gay Games 9 activity around the city. Not only can you attend the events from August 9 – 16, but restaurants and bars all over the city have special events honoring GG9. Check out the schedule of events here.
