I’m not sure what has been going on with this weather in Cleveland lately, but this weekend promises sunshine and warm temperatures, so we’ll go with that! There are a ton of fun events going on around town tonight and through the weekend. Let’s kick off August on a great note!
Friday, August 1
MIX: Caliente at the Cleveland Museum of Art. For $12 head on down to the museum for cocktails, art and music on their south terrace. Live music from Grupo Fuego, a 15-piece Tropical/Merengue band along with salsa lessons by Tropial Cleveland promise a sultry summer evening in Cleveland. Event starts at 5 p.m. and goes to 10 p.m.
Tastings on the Terrace is also at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Whether you check this event out tonight or any of the remaining Fridays in August, you’ll be treated to some fabulous pairings of food and drink. Tonight’s menu includes premium tequilas and smoked chicken-manchego quesadillas. Yum! This event runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tastings cost between $8- $10 and take place on the open-air rooftop terrace located above the restaurant. Pair this event with the one above for a packed evening!
Twilight at the Zoo. This event is one of the hottest parties of the summer! Only general admission tickets are left! For $80, enjoy 18 different bands, small bites, beer, Twisted Tea, wine and soda! This is an event that people rave about each year and is simply a summer staple! Get out there for a fabulous evening out, while also supporting a great organization!
Friday, August 1 and Saturday, August 2
Vintage Ohio Wine Festival. If you haven’t been to this awesome wine tasting event before, put your drinking shoes on and head to Kirtland, Ohio from 1 p.m. -10 p.m. either day. I attended this event a few years ago and it was a blast. Sample all of the best wines in Ohio, while enjoying live music at one of three stages. Tickets are $30, but you more than get your money’s worth with the amount of wine you get to sample.
Sunday, August 3
Warehouse District Street Festival. So I’m extra excited about this street fair, as it is basically in my “front yard”. Come on down to the neighborhood from 12 p.m. -8 p.m. for this free event where you’ll find food from local restaurants, live music, an art show, residential open houses, an architectural tower and the Cleveland’s Cutest Dog Contest and Fashion Show. This event is always a good time and a great excuse to get your butt downtown for the weekend!
